Sacajawea Non Profit Housing

Affordable Housing

It is our goal at Sacajawea to provide Indigenous, Inuit and Metis individuals

and families affordable housing within the city of Hamilton Ontario.

Our housing offers units at affordable rates and rent geared to income, which is made possible by a federal assistance program from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, administered through the City of Hamilton, Housing department and Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services. In addition to facilitating Indigenous housing, we run programs that support residents in culturally grounded ways.

Housing the Hearts of Our Nation

Our Mission is to provide affordable housing for Indigenous Peoples and families living in Hamilton Ontario by acquiring and renovating properties, building properties, and supporting the residents in culturally grounded ways. We administer funds directed at Indigenous housing, and seek to grow the number of units through partnerships, fundraising and advocacy. We recognize that woman-led families are most at risk, and they are also the keepers of our cultures and future generations. Therefore, Sacajawea is a woman-led organization.
